Children get excited to share their knowledge on things that are familiar to them. I read “The Three Little Pigs”, and the class participated in discussing what will happen after each page. This is a wonderful way to encourage students to express their thoughts freely.
During art class, they worked patiently on sketching an image that was inspired by the story. All of the sketches displayed some detail, coloring, and, shading (without even knowing). I love how they tell a story as they are drawing. After the sketch, they made houses using straw, and wood.
Children in this class range from 3-5 years old.
