Who does not like flowers?

SPRING IS IN THE AIR
DO IT YOURSELF ART PROJECTS

Here are some great ideas on what you can do at home with your children. Decorate your home with a touch of spring!

PAINTING

A tulip

All you need is canvas or sturdy paper / cardboard. Use white, blue, and red paints OR white, yellow, and red OR white, yellow, and blue. I suggest these groups of colors for young children, as they like to mix all colors which can turn muddy. This is also a good idea for children to see what happens when 2 primary colors are mixed.

COLLAGE

A bouquet of flowers

Cut out or draw a shape of a vase. Use stickers, pipe cleaners, and markers to create a bouquet of flowers. Use your imagination, and you will be surprised what your child can create.

Voila! Mom will love this too!

LET’S PAINT AND PLANT

Chalk pastel of a pot & a 3-D pot.

Children love to paint tiny objects such as pots. They get to turn the object around and make cool looking designs. Try painting with a tooth brush, a sponge, and different size brushes. Make polka dots, stripes, a pattern, or just go crazy and paint away!!

What a lovely design!

When dry, fill the pot with soil and plant some seeds. The fun part is getting messy!! Children get to learn about caring for plants and watching them grow.
